On December 27th, the Council adopted Ordinance 1613, establishing a single land use board in place of the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustment. New Jersey state law allows municipalities having a population of 15,000 or less to pass an ordinance replacing the zoning board and allowing a new planning board to also exercise the powers of a zoning board.
The new Planning Board will consist of nine members, including the mayor (Class I), a borough official (Class II), an additional member of the governing body (Class III), and six non office holding citizens (Class IV).
