JCP&L 24/7 Power Center
This is an online map that delivers fast and accurate outage information to desktop, smart phone and mobile devices. The link is http://outages.firstenergycorp.com/nj.html. During major storm events or other emergencies, the maps will feature a prominet alert with links to important outage-related news, safety reminders, and additional information such as water and ice distribution locations. The maps also will allow customers to quickly and easily report an outage. The more customers who report an outage-either on the JCP&L website or by calling 1-888-544-4877-the quicker we can locate the cause of the outage.
DEP URGES RESIDENTS TO CONSERVE WATER
(12/P51) TRENTON – Due to ongoing concerns about below normal precipitation, Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Bob Martin today encouraged residents across New Jersey to take steps to conserve water, both inside the home and outside.
While recent rainfall has helped ease this year’s precipitation deficits somewhat, the effects of an unusually dry winter and spring are starting to be felt across the state.
“Overall our major water supplies, including reservoirs and deep aquifers, remain in good shape,” Commissioner Martin said. “But after too much precipitation last year, we’ve now swung in the opposite direction, with months of below normal precipitation. Most concerning is that our stream levels and shallow groundwater supplies are severely stressed. Our goal is to begin moderating demand by asking residents to voluntarily conserve water before peak summer use begins.”

“SPIRIT OF THE JERSEYS” RETURNS TO WASHINGTON CROSSING STATE PARK; STATE HISTORY FAIR SET FOR MAY 12
(12/P48) TRENTON — The “Spirit of the Jerseys” State History Fair is returning to its roots at
Washington Crossing State Park in Hopewell Township on May 12, with a daylong series of free
educational and hands-on activities aimed at highlighting the long, rich and diverse history of our
state, Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Bob Martin announced today.
The fair, to be held in partnership with more than 130 other historic, government, and nonprofit
entities and organizations, will take place rain or shine from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the state park
that commemorates Gen. George Washington’s historic military crossing of the icy waters of the
Delaware River on Christmas Night 1776.

Spring, Summer, Fall Garbage & Recycling Calendar
The updated garbage and recycling schedule for the remainder of 2012 is now available. Please take note of the changes. Garbage will be picked up twice per week starting April 2, 2012. Recycling will continue to be on Wednesday. Bulk trash pickup will be on Thursday’s.
