Our State will be hosting the Super Bowl next month. We expect a lot of activity and some major events, surrounding the big game. Large crowds will gather, and the weather could pose risks.

With that in mind, New Jersey’s Commissioner of Health, Mary E. O’Dowd, has asked us to share with you the attached 30 second video and 30 second audio Public Service Announcements, featuring the Commissioner, on how to stay warm and healthy during festivities. There is also a 30 second video in Spanish from Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Arturo Brito.

(13/P116) TRENTON – The New Jersey State Park Service will conduct free guided hikes, walks, interpretive tours and other special outdoor activities at 15 locations across the state on New Year’s Day as part of the annual America’s State Parks First Day Hikes initiative, Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Bob Martin announced today.

Project: Route 35 Restoration, Berkeley Township to Toms River Township (MP 0-4)

Route/Direction/MP: Route 35 / NB and SB / MP 0.0 to 4.0
Sidestreets Affected: Bayview Avenue, 20th Avenue (Berkeley), 8th Avenue (Seaside Park), Island Avenue (Seaside Park), L Street (Seaside Park), Eisenhower Avenue (Toms River)

Municipality/County: Berkeley Township, Seaside Park Borough, Seaside Heights Borough and Toms River Township / Ocean County

Nature of Work: Revised Stage 3A Modified Proposal

Anticipated Traffic Impacts: Additional detours to be implemented.

Description of New Traffic Pattern: Stage 1 remains in effect as mainline traffic will be maintained in both directions in one lane with alternating traffic for the entire duration the work is occurring on the dead end side streets.

Revised Stage 3A MOD (Starting on or about 12/5/13) – Ramp WS will be closed forcing all Route 37 EB traffic to Ramp WN and continuing on Route 35 NB. The Route 37 EB traffic will be detoured to Central Avenue then continue to Route 35 NB or SB via existing signed detour route.

Ramp SW will also be closed forcing Route 37 WB traffic to follow the signed detour route to Route 37 WB via Hamilton Avenue

Route 35 NB and SB traffic will be shifted to Route35 NB in a two way traffic condition in two locations. The first location is the current detour condition from Sixth Avenue to Central Avenue in Ortley Beach. The second will be from Dupont Avenue to J Street in Seaside Heights and Seaside Park.

Proposed State Date of New Traffic Pattern: Thursday December 19, 2013 (was Thursday December 5, 2013)

The Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony hosted by PBA 182 and Seaside Park Recreation will be on Sunday, December 8th at 5 pm on the Boro Lawn at Sixth and Central Avenue.

Immediately following at 6pm food and refreshments will be offered at Tri-Boro First Aid at 61 J. Street
