The Seaside Park Police Department has adjusted some response protocols during the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.

Officers will take police reports over the telephone instead of in person if the situation does not require a police response to the caller’s location.

When officers respond to an incident in person, for example, at your home, he or she will speak to you from outside to ensure a safe distance.

To limit exposure to patients on medical calls that raise suspicion for possible COVID-19, police officers will await EMS clinicians who will have appropriate personal protective equipment before responding to the scene. If the scene is determined to be safe, officers will remain outside the residence to limit exposure. Officers will continue to respond to all calls for unresponsive individuals and those in cardiac or respiratory distress.
