The Seaside Park Police Department has implemented its Body Worn Camera Program. All sworn members of the Seaside Park Police Department will be equipped with Axon Body 3 cameras. All uniformed personnel will have the Body Worn Camera affixed to their outermost garment in the upper chest/torso region. Officers not in uniform may have the body worn camera affixed to approved belt camera brackets.

It is the policy of the Seaside Park Police Department to utilize Body Worn Cameras to assist the Sworn members of the agency in the performance of their duties by providing accurate and unbiased recorded accounts of all police incidents.

The Seaside Park Police Department is committed to providing the highest quality of Police services to our community. Body Worn Camera recordings are invaluable to law enforcement in numerous ways such as the gathering of evidence. Body Worn Camera recordings are valuable for the prosecution of criminal cases, traffic cases, and other related offenses. Body Worn Camera recordings will protect police personnel from claims of misconduct, as well as to assist in investigations of citizen complaints of Officer actions. Additionally, Body Worn Camera recordings will provide valuable feedback to Department Supervisors to correct any potential problems. Finally, Body Worn Camera recordings will provide valuable instructional material that can be utilized for in-service training.
